CYPRUS TRADE CENTRE IN DUBAI

From 1/8/2023 I am serving as the Commercial Counsellor of Cyprus in Dubai, and I am also acting as the IRENA focal point. I have a lot of experience in the field of energy and technology, and I am also a member of the Long-Term Strategy (LTS) team of IRENA and other internal responsibilities such as the Energy Planning and the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). Furthermore, I am supporting the Office of the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry and simultaneously, I actively engage in several vital projects and studies aimed at advancing energy initiatives.

Our team is strengthened by Despo Chrysostomou, an Officer A’ who is seconded from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Cyprus Trade Centre. Mrs. Chrysostomou brings over 15 years of experience from various ministries. Additionally, her academic expertise in Economics, Econometrics, and Public Administration, combined with her recent role in the General Secretariat of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, greatly enhances our collective knowledge and capabilities.

The effectiveness and impact of our work are further reinforced by the strong support and close cooperation of both the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in the United Arab Emirates and the Cyprus Business Council. Through their strategic guidance, extensive networks, and commitment to strengthening Cyprus-UAE relations, they play a pivotal role in promoting Cyprus as a trusted business and investment destination while facilitating high-level engagement with key stakeholders across the region. Their continuous support enhances our efforts in trade, investment, energy, and innovation, creating valuable opportunities for collaboration and contributing significantly to the successful advancement of Cyprus’ economic and strategic objectives in the UAE and the wider Gulf region.
